Requirements

- For appointment to this position, an applicant must be in possession of the following qualifications:
- i.Bachelor of Laws degree or its equivalent from a recognized university.
- ii.Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya of at least seven (7) years standing or a person with at least ten years’ experience in the field of legal education or as a distinguished academic in law;
- iii.Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
- Category 2 (3 posts)
- For appointment to this position, an applicant must be in possession of the following qualifications:
- i.Demonstrated competence in the field of legal education; and
- ii.Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities
-The Member of the Tribunal shall:
- i.Participate in hearing and determination of all disputes which come before the Tribunal;
- ii.Carrying out inquiry into the appeals lodged including summoning witnesses, taking evidence and calling for production of books and other documents;
- iii.Making finding thereupon and notifying parties concerned of the awards, judgements, orders, rulings and decrees issued by the Tribunal;
- iv.Making rules of the Tribunal with respect to the filing, hearing and disposal of appeals and other matters before the Tribunal; and
- v.Support implementation of the Tribunal’s plans and programmes to achieve the Tribunals vision and mission.
- vi.Provide requisite professional and technical support to ensure that the Tribunal attains a high level of competitiveness and ethical standards in its entire programmes.
- vii.Undertaking any other duty assigned for the benefit of the Tribunal.

- (e)Copies of National Identity Card (I.D), Passport or any other relevant identifiable legal documents; and
- f)Copies of academic and professional certificates, testimonials and academic transcripts and certificate of admission to the roll of Advocates.
- (g)Applicant’s recent coloured passport photograph.
- (h)Shortlisted candidates shall be required to produce originals of their National Identity Card, academic and professional certificates, and transcripts during interview.
- Appointed candidates will be required to submit valid copies of clearance certificates from the following bodies.
- •Kenya Revenue Authority
- •Higher Education Loans Board
- •Directorate of Criminal Investigation
- •Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
- •A recognized Credit Reference Bureau; and
- •Clearance from relevant professional body.
- Applicants MUST take note that it is a criminal offence to provide false information and documents in the job application and the same will be verified by relevant bodies.
